Or: The Climate Change Deniers

Scientists predict that by the year 2100 the water level in San Francisco Bay will have risen approximately 4 feet. I have attempted to show how such a sea level rise would impact everyday life by accurately placing the water level in recognizable Bay Area scenes.

While the “fake” water is realistically placed, the behavior of the “real” people is far from realistic: they are totally oblivious to the changes around them. The images then become an allegory of our own innate capacity to suppress recognition of the need to adapt to unpleasant realities.
